EXPERIENCE
Mr. Donigian has a broad range of experience in the development, testing, and applications of modern analytical techniques for assessment of environmental contamination and water resources planning problems. He is an internationally recognized authority on modeling nonpoint pollution and chemical migration in the environment, primarily for water, soil, and groundwater systems. His recent research and applications studies have concentrated on regional and watershed-scale modeling of nutrients and impacts of management practices, movement of contaminants through the vadose zone, groundwater contamination by pesticides and hazardous wastes, model validation issues and procedures, and the evaluation of control alternatives such as best management practices, conservation tillage, and remedial actions at waste sites.
Mr. Donigian has 27 years experience as an environmental consultant to government and industry, involving technical and managerial responsibilities for both small studies and large, multi-million dollar level-of-effort EPA contracts for multi-disciplinary environmental issues. As President and Principal Engineer for AQUA TERRA Consultants, in addition to office and project management responsibilities, Mr. Donigian continues to provide technical direction of projects involving watershed and water quality modeling, chemical fate analyses, exposure assessments, and evaluation of management practices using computer models. Mr. Donigian was the principal developer of the EPA ARM and NPS models, was senior advisor to the development of the EPA HSPF model, developed rapid assessment procedures for groundwater contamination, and directed the development of the LEACH and STREAM manuals for pesticide exposure assessment. He continues to participate in both model applications and code enhancements for both the EPA HSPF and PRZM models, and he has been a primary lecturer for HSPF Training Workshops sponsored by the U.S. EPA, U.S. Geological Survey, and others during the past 15 years.
Mr. Donigian is an experienced manager, an accomplished lecturer, and author of more than 80 technical reports, journal articles, and book chapters. He has developed, directed and lectured at numerous workshops on the use and application of models, and has been an invited speaker at a variety of technical symposia and conferences.
