AQUA TERRA Consultants - TMDL Support for Arroyo Colorado, Texas <link rel="StyleSheet" type="text/css" href="default.css"> </head> <body> <table class="title" border="0" cellpadding="6" cellspacing="0"> <tr><td><a href="index.html"><img src="LeafDrop.gif" alt="Aqua Terra Home Page" border=0></a></td> <td valign="center"> TMDL Support for Arroyo Colorado, Texas </td></tr></table> <p>Client:</p> <p>Tetra Tech, Inc., Fairfax, VA</p> <p>Funding:</p> <p>Texas Natural Resources Conservation Commission (TNRCC), Austin, TX</p> <p>Arroyo Colorado watershed is a complex hydrologic environment influenced by a number of physical and biochemical processes that occur commonly in many other watersheds throughout the state of Texas (i.e., irrigation, tidal influence, etc.). The State desired to adapt and externally link the HSPF model with an appropriate estuary model to enable the simulation of more complex physical/biochemical environments, thereby enhancing their ability to develop and implement TMDLs in a timely manner. AQUA TERRA assisted Tetra Tech in the development of several modeling enhancements that will be used by the TNRCC staff to perform TMDL analyses for the Arroyo Colorado.</p> <p>As a first step, AQUA TERRA provided technical support in setting up HSPF/GenScn model of the Arroyo Colorado Watershed. Tasks that were performed include the following:</p> <ul> <li>Support in completing the HSPF application for the Arroyo Colorado watershed and in incorporating local data already collected by the TNRCC <li>Support for water quality modeling of HSPF, including use of the AGCHEM sections of PERLND for cropland. This support consisted of a trip to the Austin office of TNRCC for direct assistance, as well as follow-on telephone and e-mail assistance, including review and correction of UCI files and GenScn setup, calibration guidance, and review of calibration results. <li>Setting up the model for use with the USGS GenScn interface </ul> <p align="justify"><a href="index.html">Back to AQUA TERRA Consultants home page</a></p> </body> </html>
