TMDL Support for Arroyo Colorado, Texas |

Arroyo Colorado watershed is a complex hydrologic environment influenced by a number of physical and biochemical processes that occur commonly in many other watersheds throughout the state of Texas (i.e., irrigation, tidal influence, etc.). The State desired to adapt and externally link the HSPF model with an appropriate estuary model to enable the simulation of more complex physical/biochemical environments, thereby enhancing their ability to develop and implement TMDLs in a timely manner. AQUA TERRA assisted Tetra Tech in the development of several modeling enhancements that will be used by the TNRCC staff to perform TMDL analyses for the Arroyo Colorado.
As a first step, AQUA TERRA provided technical support in setting up HSPF/GenScn model of the Arroyo Colorado Watershed. Tasks that were performed include the following:
